Lee is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Director of Twickenham Chiropractic Health Centre. Since graduating from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic he has worked in and around London, including Harley Street.
Lee was first introduced to chiropractic after sustaining a low back injury playing rugby. Not only did the treatment relieve his pain but it also helped to prevent recurrent hamstring injuries that he was plagued with for many years. As a result of the treatment and the benefits he felt, Lee decided to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
Lee enjoys treating a wide range of patients and he tailors his care to best suit the individual and achieve optimal results.
As a result of working with a variety of different athletes, Lee has been able to reduce pain, encourage performance and maintain optimal functional movement to help prevent future injuries.
As well as his chiropractic adjusting and joint manipulative skills Lee enjoys utilising other treatment modalities, such as dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue techniques, active release techniques, kinesiology taping and others soft tissue techniques to best suit the individual and achieve optimal results. Lee is also proficient in the use of Radial Shockwave Therapy, for chronic pain and tendinopathy. As a result of his own positive experience with Shockwave Therapy for shoulder impingement and tendinosis he decided to invest in one of the best Shockwave machines on the market to help achieve fantastic and long term results. Lee is constantly striving to further his knowledge and develop his expertise by attending a wide variety of seminars and lectures.
Outside of work, fitness plays a big part of Lee’s spare time where he can often be found training at Blitz CrossFit gym in Twickenham. Lee’s favourite hobby though is spending as much time with his wife and young son Freddie as he can.
Emily is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Associate Chiropractor at Twickenham Chiropractic Health Centre. Emily graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic after moving to the United Kingdom from Canada.
Emily has always been interested in a career in healthcare. While working towards her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in her hometown of Ottawa, Emily worked in a variety of roles at the Ottawa Hospital. Her interests in evidence-based medicine led her to a career in public health research with a focus on improving community health.
Emily also has a keen interest in fitness and sports and has worked in the industry for the last ten years. She is a qualified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and CrossFit Level 1 Coach and enjoys motivating and exercising with others.
Emily was first introduced to chiropractic after sustaining injuries in a car accident in her teens. She continued to seek supportive care through her fitness training and experienced firsthand the multitude of benefits of chiropractic treatment. Emily was then inspired to forge a new path from public health research to a rewarding career in chiropractic.
Emily thrives on helping individuals reach their peak potential, whether that be high-level athletic ability or simply pain-free movements of daily living. Like Lee, Emily utilises a variety of techniques as well as chiropractic adjustments, such as soft tissue treatments including instrument-assisted soft tissue release and kinesiology taping. Treatment will be customised to your individual needs to decrease pain and restore joint function, thereby delivering the highest quality of patient-centred care. While always on the quest for self- improvement, Emily continues to expand her repertoire of skills through continued education and professional development.
When Emily isn’t at the clinic or the gym, she enjoys traveling, cooking and trying out new restaurants.
Elly is a Doctor of Chiroractic and associate Chiropractor at Twickenham Chiropractic Health Centre. She graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with the Clinical Excellence Prize in 2011, and has since worked in South and South West London. Locally, Elly most recently worked at the Wolff Clinic in Richmond for 8years before joining the team at TW Chiro.
Growing up in Australia Elly has always been passionate about the body, movement, helping people and natural health. After finishing her pre tertiary education and planning to become a medical doctor she took a gap year to backpack around Europe. Following a visit to a chiropractor in Cardiff for headaches and lower back pain she was immediately fascinated with Chiropractic, how it could help so many conditions and have such a positive effect on the body. It was because of this that Elly studied her Masters of Chiropractic in Wales.
Elly is passionate about helping patient’s from all walks of life. Treatment is always patient centered and tailored to the individual’s needs, whatever their goal and whether they are young, old, an athlete, a desk worker or pregnant.
Elly uses a variety of techniques to decrease pain, restore function and optimise patient performance. These include a diverse range of Chiropractic adjustment and mobilization techniques for both the spine and extremities, including CCEP extremity adjusting. Elly also uses a variety of soft tissue relaxation techniques including instrument assisted, passive and active release techniques and kinesiotaping. Through her continued professional development Elly is constantly expanding her knowledge base and Chiropractic toolbox in order to deliver the highest quality patient centred care.
Outside of work, Elly loves to stay active and enjoy the great outdoors. Whether it be lifting weights or her own bodyweight in the gym, running, cycling or hiking a mountain, she’ll be enjoying herself. Elly also loves travelling to new places, experiencing new cultures, laughing with friends, cooking up a storm and learning new skills.
Helen graduated from her MSc in Sports Rehabilitation Therapy in 2012 and has been working not only with athletes but with the general population since then. Having worked with sports teams and the Royal Marines, she now often works with desk-based professionals who still want to be very active in their spare time.
Helen‘s passion for getting people back to their sports and leisure activities after pain and injuries came about through her own experiences in sport and exercise and she believes that regardless of whether or not you do sport, you should be able to get through a day pain-free!
Having recently completed a year-long course in the Integrated Systems Model with Diane Lee, Helen has discovered a keen interest in women’s health, especially in the post-partum population. The Integrated Systems Model allows the therapist to consider all aspects of the body, including how internal scar tissue, old injuries, or posture might be contributing to your pain. Considering all aspects of the body’s systems has proved invaluable in determining the root cause of chronic pain and repetitive injuries.
As well as using various soft tissue techniques including hands-on work, acupuncture, and taping, Helen also believes that correcting movement patterns is imperative to recovery and will expect you to take a small active part between appointments to achieve this.
Helen is truly passionate about her work, but in her free time also loves taking part in anything active and has taken part in CrossFit competitions, triathlons, and various other races. She has also played tennis and rugby at county level and loves to challenge herself. She is planning on completing her first Ironman race with her husband for their first anniversary!
Christina has been a Massage Therapist for over 10 years. She first trained as a deep tissue therapist and, after her first child, went on to do pregnancy massage after experiencing the benefits herself of having massage treatment during her own pregnancy.
In 2013 she qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist from St. Mary’s University and now provides more advanced treatments including soft tissue release, stretching and muscle energy techniques. She combines some treatments, where appropriate, with Medical Acupuncture/Dry Needling which she feels, gives an effective alternative to help release tight muscle bands.
She has worked with people from all walks of life including individuals with a sporting background (CrossFitters, marathon runners, triathletes, rowers, rugby players etc) to individuals requiring post operation care or injury management, disabled people, as well as people needing sports massage for general tensions and aches from stress or pressures of everyday life.
When not at work Christina enjoys spending time with her two boys and going for long walks with their dog – the muddier the better! She is also mad about CrossFit and loves yoga. She has enjoyed a number of different sporting challenges over the years including running a marathon, doing sprint triathlons and competing in CrossFit competitions.
